George, Edward Hurt, Jr. 81 of Huntley, died January 13, 2018 at his home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association or St. Mary/ St. Vincent DePaul Society,
George was born December 2, 1936 the son of George and Claire (Friedmann) Hurt. He served in the United States Navy and later worked as an Environmental Engineer for the EPA. In 1984 he married Judith Kocka. He loved traveling, playing golf, attending theater and was active with the men’s breakfast group and for five years served on property and grounds of Del Webb. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, son, George (Laura) Hurt III, daughters, Barbara (Victor) Wong and Judene Burkhardt and by his granddaughters, Erika, Stephanie and Victoria and also by his brother, Thomas (Mary) Hurt and by several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Dorothy O'Laughlin

We are so sad to hear about George. We will miss the funeral because we are not in Huntley right now. He was always a great neighbor to us and we will miss him. Our sincere prayers and condolences go to you Judy and the family.
